Production Sound Mixing and Recording for Narrative Film & TV, Commercial and Documentary works.

History of a Sound Guy

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a child I had aspirations of becoming an actor and director, constantly geeking out on special features of films. As a teen, I was involved with choral and drama programs, Video Production courses and played in bands.

I put myself through college, attending Diablo Valley College and Los Medanos College, exploring audio production and digital art courses. I went onto attend the BECA (Broadcast Electronics Communication Arts) program at San Francisco State University where I advanced my technical skills in both visual and audio productions.

While at SFSU, I won awards in both in mixing and sound design in my program, produced a weekly radio show, co-produced events and live shows, and was Vice President of the College Student in Broadcasting, an organization that worked with Department heads and networked with alumni broadcast and film professionals in efforts to put on larger department productions and host weekly meetings.

In 2010, post college graduation, I took some time to travel (SE Asia & Europe) and delved deeper into developing my artistic passions and self discovery. For the next 4 1/2 years, I played and co-managed two bands and worked in music recording studios and live venues. Simultaneously, I took freelance work in all fields production related including stage management, artist relations, set/stage design, art construction and tech crew.

As a production sound engineer I honed my sound mixing and field recording skills working with the Academy of Art, local music acts, independent TV/film producers and on shows such as IGN’s Next Game Boss and Radiant Atmospheres: A Documentary.

In January 2015, I moved to Los Angeles where I have been full-time freelancing as a production sound mixer since. I love my job!

I am a West Coast Production Sound Mixer, based in Los Angeles with a secondary base of operations in San Francisco/Bay Area.

I also work as a creative production artist in set/stage design, events/festival art. See “Creative Production” page for more details.
